  • Cool Running for the week of May 30, 2005

Hope you've all enjoyed a nice long weekend!!

You've been keeping up with your running, right? I hope so!!

I did 8 miles today ... oh man, the heat index was 92 and I went without eating .. I kinda frazzled on the last few miles, but I did finish it running ... Exhausted and spent, but done!!

We painted our living room, family room, kitchen and entry way this weekend too, so I've had plenty of exercise ... those 12' walls are a killer!!

I don't think there is anywhere on my body that doesn't hurt!!

I ran this morning. Beat my best 5 mile time by 1:02 at 48:51.

Since I started running last fall (well April really I only ran twice last fall), I've cut over 9 minutes off my 5 mile time.

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

I am just plain tired too. Cranky, headache, you name it. Heck, I've even been thinking about a Wendy's frosty ... I must be losing my mind.

So I settled for fresh unsweetened berries and a little heavy cream.

I think I just need to go to bed!!

Wow Betty, I don't know how you do it. You're amazing. I did my upper body weights and a 15K bike ride. Oh, add me to the cranky list too.

Well I did it. My 10k was done 1:28:56, so I beat my goal. i am pretty happy. I ran at least 50% of the time. last year we were passed by just about everyone except the quitters. This year I was passing people! It made me feel pretty good. I am sore, tired and I have a terrible headache but I am very happy I accomplished my goal.

I did my 5k walk this afternoon and am I ever pleased with the whole change I made to taking a long walk like that in the afternoon. It's a good work out because I power my way through it and it's a very interesting route.

Plus, I'm actually wearing a sleevless tank top and I'm developing a really nice tan, so it's working out on many levels.

Holy moly, it sure is a workout on the glutes!

Isn't it great when when we beat our goals?

Gotta set goals else you'll never reach one...

Re: Cool Running for the week of May 30, 2005

                  Hey Betty!
You Go Girl! That's fantastic! I'm about to hit the saddle for a long ride this morning. (I've been fighting planter fasciitis in my right heel so Sunday night I took double my anti-inflamatory meds and rested yesterday.)
Glad to hear you were able to get so much done! That's great! I'll be busy packing for dear BRAN this week. We leave Saturday morning. It's been cool/wet here for the past two weeks (It was only 45 yesterday morning!) But I would rather ride in cool cloudy weather than hot, humid sunny weather. We'll see!

                  Hang in there!
                  Be well-

Wednesday, June 1 ... (can you believe its June already??) :yikes

I just finished 8 miles in an hour 39 minutes, burned 685 calories on an empty stomach (gotta love that!) not too shabby, but then it was cloudy and sprinkling a little which really helps to not have that intense Florida sun to deal with. The humidity, however .. :yikes 91%!
Oh, what's a little sweat among friends? :hug

                    Thank God for air conditioning!

Have a great running day, everyone!

I DID it guys I have exercise 3 days in a row and today I Jogged 2.15 miles and walked the other .60 miles so I am happy and I burned over 500 calories. I feel so great and my body is a bit tired cause I am not having my Java any more but, it'll come. I have somehting weird to say. I have been doing somewhat of a detox and today I was sweating like a maniac and my sweat on my back was (ok don't get disgusted) Like Snot literally. Is this a good thing or a bad thing I hope it's good. Oh also something elese since I have given up dairy I am not conjested any more so I am thinking that was the root of my stall. Glad to be back everyone. Jog on Friday. Oh, it's my Bday Tomorrow I'll be 29 so I just thought I would let you all know.

You do look young! (and no, I'm not lying!!)

Atkins and exercise truly IS the fountain of youth. I have people tell me I don't even look 40, let alone nearly 50. Lies, or not, I'm takin' it!
