Way to go on the race that's so awesome I would like to find a 5 k for charity or something so that I can get a feel for it before I enter a race cause I am really slow.

Don't get me wrong I am only racing myself. My goal is to place around 300th. How's that for ambition? I definitely want to break 50 minutes, I'd like to break 45, which would be a new best. It's a tenth of a mile shorter than my five mile route and I'll have race day energy, I hope.

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

I always run full out for the last few hundred yards of any run. And yeah, I do want the very best time I can get.

              Jim,

I always just compete against myself. That's why doing the races is so much fun, because you always try to improve your time from the previous race. Heck, in the past year, I've knocked nearly 5 minutes off my 5ks and 4 minutes off my 10ks!! See, it can happen!!

I know you'll do great! :wave GOOD LUCK! Be sure and write in and let us know how it goes!

It's race day. I just want to thank everyone here for their encouragement and tips. This board and the people here are what made this possible for me.

I'm excited nervous. Having some sausages now and downing good amounts of water. No dehydration today, although given my current level of hydration, I know that won't happen.

A time of 45 minutes would be sweet.
