Ok, my workout routines are based on "dinosaur Training". Basically lots of heavy lifting and compound exercises. Well one of my training session involves grip. I was reading my book and it talked about Farmers walk.
Basically, the idea they gave, was to get two huge heavy duty jugs from the hardware store, fill it with water. Pick a distance, pick them up and carry it the distance. Try to do 3-4 times. If they get to light, fill them with rocks or something similair. The exercise works your hands, forearms, shoulders, and your back.
Well, I didn't have any jugs. So I improvised. I had cinder blocks laying around. so I dug through my garage and found some rope. I grabbed two cinder blocks and tied them together. I knotted the ends of the rope for a handle then grabbed electrical tape and triple wrapped them for a more comfortable grip. I made another one for the other arm. Then for good measure I spray painted the blocks with differnt slogans to pump me up when I do this work out.
My arms feel like complete Jelly! ITs hard work I swear! I carried them for about 30 yardsx5. Its almost a complete upperbody workout, because not only am I carrying them, but I have to balance to keep from shifting on me.
Its not for the faint at heart, but its part of my goal to become a strength monster! lol My grip is going to be so strong, I wil be able to crush bones with my handshake! lol maybe not really, but worth working to strive to do.
