  • What are your favourite post run stretches?

    Hi everyone. I'm just curious what post-run stretches that you like the best and/or find the most effective. I'm most interested in what you do for your shins that you like.

    I seldom if ever stretch .. I know, I know, bad bad. But really, it doesn't seem to bother me a bit. I typically just walk a few blocks after completing my run and that seems to be enough for me as a cool down.

    I guess I'm weird that way!! :confused

      Aswell as the obvious walking to cool down.

      I do the following stretches (not sure of the technical names though)

      I grab hold of a foot and pull it up behind me so that that my heel touches my backside. Then repeat it with the other foot.

      I also Push myself against a wall and stretch my back leg out behind me then swap legs.

      I pick up a foot and rest it on the opposite knee and then sit back a little, (then again swapping feet).

      I hope this helps in a way. It helps stretch out the legs basically.

      It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




      I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

        Betty! Tsk tsk! *teases*

        I always stretch after running. A friend of mine who is a marathon runner told me to do 'toe taps' for the shins after a run. I thought it was kinda cool. (I know...I'm sad getting excited about these things) It was just a different stretch then what I was doing so it got me curious.
