  • Do you eat before you exercise?

As a busy mother of two toddlers and a fulltime worker I have been getting up at 4:30am to work out on my elliptical, with weights, or the Tae Bo tapes. I am starving afterwards. I am one of those people that has to eat breakfast each day. Do I have a snack before I start my workout and would that help get me through the workout better? I drink tons of water while I exercise too!

    Thanks for your suggestions! :wave

I typically do eat, but I wait 2 hours after eating before running ...

Do you feel weak during your workout? If so, then maybe a light protein snack beforehand would be okay and enough to get you through .. like a hardboiled egg...a couple of pieces of bacon?? If you're in the later phases, you could try a little low-carb yogurt with berries too.

Like Betty I usually wait about 2 hours after eating before exercising. If I don't wait, I get cramps, feel bloated, and don't get a good work-out.

That was a good suggestion to eat something small just to tide you over.

        Thanks Betty and Casey!

Great suggestions! Both my kids promptly get up at 5:30 so I have to get up to exercise that early. I will try a little snack beforehand since I don't get to have breakfast until two hours later.

Betty--great picture!! You look awesome! An inspiration for us all!
