  • Walk - Jog - Bounce Bounce....

Sooo, I went walking this afternoon (my cardio is usually at the gym) and to get my heart rate up some, I peridocially did a little jogging. I've never been able to do much in the way of jogging and today was no different, but I figured I'd do what I could and eventually I'll get further and further.

Welllll, even though I'm wearing a good sports bra, the ummmm, bouncing, was uncomfortable (no I'm not huge or anything). The other bothersome bouncing was from my backside! No laughing! :wave That area is my largest safety deposit box for fat and all of the front and rear bouncing made for no fun during my short jogs. :anger

What's a bouncing body to do? :confused

    Monica,

Look around at athletic stores or online at www.roadrunnersports.com for support sport bras. There are some really good ones out there and I would think you'd be able to find a good one!

Great job with the jogging ... KEEP IT UP! If anyone stares at you, just look at em and say 'AT LEAST I AIN'T HOME ON THE SOFA EATING CHIPS!'

and try compression shorts, they should help with the "other" bouncing.

        Hey cajun,
I got some great advice from a local running store about the type of sports bra to wear for running. I'm fairly well-endowed up top (40DD :yikes ), so you'll have to trust me on this one. The simple solution is to look for bras with two separate seams (one for each breast). This will keep them separated, and will avoid the mono-boob bounce. I have a bra that's made by Champion, but it's made specifically for running so it has the added support. Usually sports bras are "rated", so just make sure you get either maximum support, or one that says it's specifically for running.

I don't really know what to tell you about the backside, except to keep running and hope the problem takes care of itself! :nod

I use a running top with built in support *on top of* a good sports bra.

As for the backside, I just run slowly and try to ignore it. I did get someone say (he thought he was out of earshot) at a race 'Good God, if I was was that fat I wouldn't even attempt to run' but he shut up when I pointed out that he wasn't at all fat and he still wasn't running. :nod I get a lot more comments from people who think that 'If she can do it, surely I must be able to!' so I just try to picture myself as an inspiration to all the other people out there. :wave

I'm rather well endowed (in fact I've only lost an inch in that area in the 70 pounds I've lost). I was talking to a friend of mine who is a marathon runner and she told me to 'double bra' it. Basically I wear my regular bra then a good athletic bra on top. I thought it was going to be bulky and hot, but it's not and I notice a HUGE difference.

Thank you all for the suggestions to lessen the bouncies! I think I will get myself one of the support sports bras and some compression shorts and try that.

You are all a great source for advice!! Thank you!! :yes

I swear by my Bestform bra's I get at Walmart for $16 (cdn). They have many different styles and are fantasitic. I've spent $50+ at the RunningRoom for a champion running bra and I don't think it compares to my Walmart bras.

I'm not really large busted (36B) but can't stand the bounce (all i keep thinking about is the sagging it's causing! LOL). I'd also recommend trying the bra on and jumping up and down in the changeroom. I actually wear a 34B ina running bra and 36b in a regular one.
