I have a question for everyone here, and anyone who can answer this for me. I have a knee injury. I am getting over it slowly but surely. So instead of walking or running. I swim 4 times a week. Also I have started doing squats and lunges in the pool. Is there any difference between doing this on land and doing it in the pool? If so what are they? And is it having the same impact?

Yes there is a different between land and water and it's the level of resistance... however you can attain the same or even greater level by using the foam weights in the water that absorb the water and give you the resistance. I (angel) have taken water aerobics and can really feel a difference when using these items for resistance rather than just lunges/squats without... in most instances i've felt a greater "burn" than land lunges/squats. I hope this helps

In addition... i found doing the water aerobics early on in adding my exercise was much easier on all of my joints and with all the extra weight i had ... extra help was much appreciated
