Do an internet search on "too much exercise" and you'll get all kinds of hits explaining what can happen if you overtrain.

Unless you're a pro athlete I can't see spending 20 hours a week exercising....even if it was good for me.
Then it becomes more like a job.

Would you like to be injured? You run a real risk of stress fractures, muscle strains and others too numerous to mention...

The body needs exercise, but it also needs rest and recovery. Minute muscle tears happen from rigorous exercise and if you don't allow adequate time for those tears to repair (through rest and adequate protein intake) you are ASKING for trouble.

I love to run, but because I want to be a lifetime healthy runner, I respect my body enough to know its limits.

            Re: Too Much Exercise?

After reading your post, I think that is too much exercise in one day. You can certainly run the risk of overdoing it and straining your muscles.

I recommend that you spend less time working out, but make the time you do spend, a very high quality.

              Re: Too Much Exercise?

4-5 hours of tae bo sounds like someone switching their addiction from food to exercise....it's another form of bulemia, so be careful!
