Good Monday evening, everyone, and happy 4th ..
I am exhausted after last night's late night run. You know how hard it is to come home at 1 a.m. and not be able to unwind? grrrrrrrrrr. I'm glad I ran the 5k, but I paid for it today .. just not up to par ..
I need S L E E P!!!
No run tomorrow .. 11.1 miles yesterday is enough!!

Re: Cool Running for the week of July 3, 2005
I did 5 miles this morning. (48:55) Was a cool 70 but muggy as anything. Had a light rain about halfway through and I was thinking about doing 10. But it was pouring by my last mile and and I had to run in some puddles so my sneaks were soaked, another 5 and I would have done some damage to my feet. So today prudence got the better of valor and I kept it to 5.Jim

Oh, my Goodness Betty I am soo scred I just enterd a 10 km race. I did 7.5 kms last night it took me a bit over 1 hour so that I think was pretty good. I'm sure I can do it. I even ran that outside WOOHOOO. Felt good but the heat was horrendous it was +27C here and too hot there was a pretty good wind blowing THANK GOD. I did it though. It's for a great cause and it's a personal thing. It's for the Emergency Womens Shelter. SO I'm out today gunna get some pledges.

Sarah, I think that's AWESOME that you entered a 10k race! GOOD FOR YOU!! Talk about motivating!! I am so proud of you!! Just remember to take it slow, have fun and don't worry about your time...THE FIRST 10K is a very memorable event so enjoy it!! When is it???
I finished 8 miles at noon in 91 degrees and 93 degree heat index. Brutal, but I made it. 1 hour 40 minutes. Had to take it slow or be a meal for the vultures...
I FEEL GREAT THOUGH!! Thank God for air conditioning!!

Re: Cool Running for the week of July 3, 2005
It's in 10 days on the 16th so I am excited I get a shirt and everyhting so it'll be good. The only thing holding me back right now is I have a serious eye infection I don't know where I got it just knw I did and the Antibiotics aren't touching it and I am worried cause my doc said that if it gets any worse I could have vision loss so I am worried and this is putting a bit of a side on my training outside cause the sun hurts my eyes. I am still doing it though I can't quit cause of this it's too important. And so, I am on some different eye drops and hoping for a BIG change tonight cause I am kinda scred of what will happen if it doesn't go away. At least I am ontop of it.

Re: Cool Running for the week of July 3, 2005
Did another 4 miles in the intense noonday sun today. Man, it was brutal. That gives me 23 miles so far this week. Maybe another 4 tomorrow .. we'll see. Then of course my long sustained run on Saturday.

Did my run this morning and it's feeling great! I may not have time this weekend to do my third run of the week.....considering I'm only running for three minutes then walking for one for 50 minutes, would it be okay to get my third day in tomorrow? I do have time then!

If you feel up to it go for it. There is nothing wrong with training two days in a row or more. You have your rest days in, I say run.Originally posted by IsabeauDid my run this morning and it's feeling great! Re: Cool Running for the week of July 3, 2005
Got up at 5AM this morning and went running otherwise I wasn't sure how I'd fit it in. Had my best time ever and my best 2.5 mile split ever. I ran it in 45:52 (prior best 46:41), and because I knew (well thought anyway) that I was on pace to break 45 minutes I pushed the second half and did that in 22:20, which was my best split by over half a minute.
And did I mention I hit a new low this morning? 285.9Jim
