I have such a hard time getting motivated to exercise! I literally HATE it. I'd almost rather take a beatin' than exercise. LOL Being over 100 lbs overweight really bites as far as exercising goes, but it can only be beneficial to me, so how do you others get motivated? I just don't feel good after I exercise, like so many people say they do, or I might want to do it more.
Let me say first, I am NOT a morning person. I get up around 9, but I don't WAKE up until about 11. LOL I've always been this way. I have 2 small children (2 years and 6 months), and first thing in the morning is out for me. Well, I guess I could take a walk with them in the stroller, but that gets boring after a while. One thing I really love to do that I can't do very well anymore is ride horses. I can't wait until I'm light enough that the poor horse isn't going to grunt and quiver when I get on him (unless I find a Clydesdale somewhere). I have dreams about riding horses, although most of the time it's me looking through all these horses and none of them are big enough for me to ride. Ah, anxiety dreams. Gotta love 'em.
Anybody have any suggestions for good ways to exercise with little kids in tow? Or in the way? I have some exercise tapes and things, but man, have you ever tried to bounce around the room with a 2 year old in the way? LOL Especially in a teeny living room like I have. What are some FUN things to do that I might not be thinking of?

Like you I used to dread the morning and I would only roll out of bed when one of my pumpkins needed me. Now, it is just part of my new healthier, happier routine. I also try to work in tae bo at naptime. Part of losing weight and getting healthy is accepting that what "I have always" done or been like got you to be in the condition you are in now--ie that didn't work!! Also as a fellow mommie I know how hard it is to make oneself a priority, I had so much guilt when I first started Tae bo and my boys "needed" something. They got over it and so did I. I am a better mommie now than I have ever been, I have more confidence, and energy to lead them thru life. And I can't tell you the pride I feel when my 4 year old says "Mom you exercise? I am so proud of you." I know I am setting a good example for them and that is what keeps me getting out of bed and hitting the concrete at 5 am. I hope this helps a little. Good luck and good job taking the first steps to a more active life.
and really can give a boost to your upper body muscles... just a thought.

I went to the gym daily for 6 months and it easily took me a week to undo it, esp as I didn't enjoy it. Kinda like me trying to get into a habit of brushing my teeth 3 times a day after each meal - I did that for 6 months and it was good for me to brush my teeth, but I still didn't like doing it and these days I have to literally force myself to do it LOL
