Okay, when do you replace your walking shoes? I think I need to replace mine. The ball area is worn on one side. This is on both shoes. I guess I walk with my weight more towards the outside of my feet. They have not seem that much exercise, but I work in a hospital and these are what I wear 98% of the time.

Re: New shoes, when???
Walking and/or running shoes should be replaced between 300-500 miles. Depending on what type of surface you wear them on, concrete/cement/tile will wear them out sooner.
I try to run on asphalt as much as I can, as its softer and easier on the joints (and the shoes). Grass is best, but down here, our grass is impossible to run on ...(st. augustine). Most of my runs are done on concrete sidewalks so I make it a rule to replace my shoes at the 300 mile mark, which for me is about every 8-10 weeks.

Re: New shoes, when???
I replace mine about every 6 months. I don't put a lot of milelage on them compared to when I was running, but I find it works best for my body if I replace them before they get old. I don't think you can replace them too often.

Re: New shoes, when???
I suggest you shop online for shoes, particularly if you love a certain pair (I am in love with my New Balance 1221s!!)
I find them to be cheapest at http://www.mysimon.com/Women's_Shoes...765&10003sid=t Free shipping and no tax!! These shoes retail at the New Balance shop for $140!!!
Also check prices at www.onlineshoes.com. They also have free shipping and no tax. These are the exact same shoes as are in the stores, so don't be afraid to try them.
Remember, if you are a runner, to order your shoes a full size bigger than your regular street shoes....your toe nails will thank you.
