  • My first mile...

I started eating right 2 months ago but I couldnt exercise. It was painful just to go check my mail. I would try and try and couldnt keep myself going. I had talked to a good friend and he said that my trying is exercise. Well...that changed my attitude. I don't get very proud of myself, but i made an exception tonight. I walked a mile!! I know that isnt alot, but i havent walked a mile in 6 years. I look forward to being apart of the exercise forums now that I know I can do it.

That's awesome. I agree, trying is still exercise. Keep walking and add up those miles. Every step counts.

This is an excellent statement, and so true! If you set out to walk a mile and only walk a half a mile, you've still walked a half a mile! I think you'll find that going from 0 miles to 1 mile is a lot harder than going from 1 mile to 2 miles, or from 2 miles to 4 miles. You've already done the hard part, now just keep up the good work!!!

Depends on the speed. It took me a lot longer to build from 2 to 4 miles than from 0 to 2.

                      Re: My first mile...

                      hey guys.

It has been 3 years since I have been here.
                      (sorry about that)

I managed to get down to 300 hundred pounds.
But allowed life's dramas to pull me back up to 330.

I recieved an email from the forum (thankfully) and decided to come back.

I have allowed myself to get into a carb addiction and dread seeing any more weight get back on me.

                      So here I am.
Time to get into induction, again

Welcome back dcs. I'm glad you decdied to come back. You ended your post with what I think of as the worried frown. Think of it this way...THIS IS IT! This time you are changing your life for good. You know the plan works, you know how good it makes you feel both physically an mentally. Now all you need to do is get the carby garbage out of your kitchen, lace up the walking shoes, and watch the weight drop away.

                        Good health to you!

                              Thanks for the replys,

Not sad about doing the right thing, only not looking forward to the icky 'flu' this week.

But I know it will be worth it.

I have many questions, but will look around for the appropriate forums.
Hope you all have/had a great weekend.
