  • Speedo Sportswater Drinks

Has anyone else tried these? I've tried the Lemon flavor and its not bad .. a very good source of vitamins, potassium & electrolytes .. which if you're running and/or exercising and sweating ALOT (like I do here in W Central FL ..) is very handy to take with you .. I picked up a few bottles today at Big Lots for 48 cents a bottle (16 oz). They are sweetened with Splenda and are low carb.

I noticed lately on my longer runs (more than 10 miles), that in the heat and humidity, plain water just doesn't cut it for me over the long haul .. matter of fact, the more water I drink during my runs, the worse I feel, so I am wondering if the water intake is causing me to lose even more electrolytes ..

Anyway, I invested in a few bottles of Speedo and am planning to take a bottle with me tomorrow on my 13 mile jaunt up the trail ... stay tuned ..

I need to find something like that for my long climb because last time I went up to Muir on Rainier I drank something like 2 gallons of water and was dying of thirst. I think after a while my body got diluted and my kidneys starting over-pumping out liquids to compensate...making matters worse.
I didn't feel better until I stopped drinking (& peeing)

Next time I go I'm going to bring a couple of GU's and a salty snack.
