  • Getting back in the routine

It's so hard to get back into enjoying a good workout. I used to go to the gym 5x's a week and I loved it so much...I was in the best shape back then...I'm just wondering how I'm ever going to get back into saying "I love a good workout".

This morning I didn't feel like going at all. I woke up a little later than usual, and felt like I had bricks hanging off every limb. I kept telling myself "I don't feel like going...but I have to". I HAVE TO! Last night I promised myself I would go this morning, and I did...and I have to say I'm really proud of myself for doing so, because I've said that many times and just didn't do it. I'm determined to make this work, and I know I can only be successful by not letting myself down by breaking my own promises to myself.

You know what's funny? During my whole workout I kept saying to myself "Why are you doing this? You know why your doing this...because you want to lose weight, and be healthy...and you won't achieve that without a little pain...it's not going to be easy, it never was and no one ever said it would be"....I just went on and on like that because I REALLY didn't feel like being there.

Now I'm really happy that I went, it was worth the pain and suffering, and I know it will just get easier each time that I go.

Thanks for listening to me ramble....if anyone else out there is struggling with getting into a exercise routine, than your not alone...we can do it!

Great job DOING IT!! Yep, there are days when its tough to do it, but afterwards, you feel so great!!

Take it one day at a time, one workout at a time! They say it takes 2 weeks of doing something in order to establish a habit! You're one day closer!! YAY YOU!

EXERCISE IS A GIFT YOU GIVE YOUR BODY!

Thank you Betty! I know it will take time...I'll be really happy when that time comes that I look forward to going to the gym! hehe
I signed up for the next 6 week exercise challenge so that should help to motivate me more.

As I'm running/walking I tell myself postive things or thoughts....like what I'll be able to wear at such and such a date. I'm not an excercise fanatic yet but I'd love to be one.
