  • Best Cruntches??

    What are considered the best way to do cruntches now a days??

    My personal favorite is to do them on an exercise ball. It strengthens your "core muscles" faster than anything IMO.

    Bear in mind, there is no such thing as spot reducing, but you definitely will feel the burn doing crunches on the ball.

      Okay Betty...I am exercised challenged...LOL....so will need more detail. My calves are up on the ball?? Or my butt or back is on the ball?? Won't it break?? I weigh 222. So feet are where? Back is where? Hands are where? Do I sit up all the way or just move my shoulders up?? Terrible I know not to know but it has been so long!! If my feet are on the ball can they just be on the edge of the couch or a chair instead? I have limited space.

      I know I cannot 'spot reduce' but I also know that when I suck in my tummy that INCHES disappear and it is those muscles that I am seeking to strenghten and tighten. Maybe so many cruntches at night before bed or in the morning or something like that.

        Yes, lie back on the ball so the ball is in the "small" of your back. Your chest and shoulders should be off the ball. Most exercise balls I've seen will hold 300 pounds, so you should be fine. Put your hands behind your head, but don't use them to pull yourself up; tighten your abs and use them to slowly raise and lower your body.

        I try and do 110 crunches on the ball a day and I've got 6 pack abs!! Even at 50!!
