I am still walking a half mile in the am and the pm... but I cant seem to go farther... I am walking fast and doing my half mile but it is taking every bit of strength I can muster...

Should I slow down and walk more (like try for one mile at a slower pace)

    or

continue walking the half mile at a fast pace increasing a block every couple of days..

    or

does it matter so long as I am walking?

    Re: Walking

You burn the same amount of calories walking 3 miles in an hour as you do walking a 1.5 miles in 30 minutes.

I would keep walking. Before you know it, you'll be moving at a faster pace and you'll add speed in no time, and distance with it!

Do you have any hills nearby? Incline kicks boody!

Way to go on walking! You're giving your body a wonderful gift!

        Re: Walking

I agree. Don't worry at all about your speed. Build endurance based on what your body can handle. Speed will come! The best thing is, you're out there moving!!!

          Re: Walking

work on going as fast as you can and your speed and endurance will improve. I was a 20 min 2MPH person when I started walking back in 2002 now if I set the treadmill that slow I walk off the front of the tread. You will be surprized at how fast you improve too!

          Happy low carbing.
