well, I've been doing atkins and I do a lot of excersize i.e walking/running, hula hooping, aerobic excersizes ect and recently I've found that I can do up to 1000 crunches a day. I know this may seem excessive, but If I space it out through the day it's not hard at all. If I do this for two weeks do you think I may see a more significant change in my stomach area?(of course I wouldn't just stop after the 2 weeks)

I've just learned how to manage my time,I do incraments of 40 crunches throughout the day when I have a break, and in the morning evening, and I hula hoop in the morning, and I don't have a car since I live in the city, so I walk everywhere I need to go

Re: 1000 crunches a day?
Peace, you can build the muscles and that will, of course, help them look better..... BUT the reality is that you really don't have to work your abs more than 3-4 times a week and doing what you're doing isn't going to give you better looking results. You could have the abs of Debbie Siebers and it's not going to matter if they're covered in a layer of fat. There's no such thing as spot reducing. An overall program of resistance training AND aerobic exercise is your best bet to great abs.
The saying goes, "Great abs are made in the kitchen."

Re: 1000 crunches a day?
there was a pretty good souther football palyer who won a heisman doing 1000 crunches a day named hershel Walker.
spacing them out is fine. One of the Olympic boxers did cruches the whole time he watched tv. it is very hard to over work your abs and not know it.by the book atkinseer

CBS pregame said he did 1000 of each, but he mistakenly thought that would be enough to keep him out of the weight room until he gotr to the pros and found out better about resistance training.by the book atkinseer

Re: 1000 crunches a day?
1000 seems like a lot. Are you focusing on quality instead of quantity?
Are you focusing on your muscles or the number? Are you doing them slowly and throroughly or fast to get them done?
Have you tried to vary your routine like doing ab work on the ball?
You may see better results by concnetrating on the movements rather than the number.
You've got lots of motivation, so go for it girl : )
