  • Cool Running for the week of November 6, 2005

    Happy Sunday to everyone!

I didn't run yesterday since I woke up with a pounding sinus headache, so I did my 13.5 today on the trail. It was hot! Isn't this November?? Anyhow, I finished it, burning 1,210 calories in the process. Just under 3 hours. Not great, but hey, I'm 5 weeks from my 50th!!

Have a great day! (Rach, let us know how the 1/2er went!!)

hey Betty if you are already running 1/2s think you could do a whole instead of the 1/2 or does this 1/2 not come with a whole as an option?

Oh yeah, they offer the full marathon at WDW too .. matter of fact, you can sign up for the half AND the full!!! 39.3 miles?? ARE THEY NUTS?

I hope to do the 26.2 maybe in January 2007 .. Gotta get my weekly long runs up to 20+ miles first though.

Walked a mile with the family. My toes are sore. he he he. Shooting for a few miles in the morning, nothing to heavy, just going to see how I feel.
Oh and hubbie got me an MP3 player. He saw all of the runners at the half with them and decided I need one. What a sweetie. I can't wait to try it out, but I may only use it on my long runs as I really do enjoy the quiet.--It is nice to have a cheering section looking out for ya

I did a whopping 1.5 miles today. You guys put me to shame!

Rach, you'd be amazed how motivating the right songs can be. I run about 2 minutes per mile FASTER when I listen to my running mix. Some of my songs include "Chronic" by Snoop Dogg, "Miami" by Will Smith, and "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eyed Peas. You can't help but haul ***!!!

                        Today was 40 min.--4mi or so--Early in the a.m... Tomorrow will be a challenge day--hill training...yikes!

Tomorrow morning I'll work on strengthening my core with my pilates workout. After my hill training tomorrow night, I'll go to my ballet class--great stretching for my hamstrings--though my quads will probably scream...

                        Good job everyone!

5k yesterday, and then I celebrated my new running shoes, New Balance 1023's, by doing 2.5 miles tonight. I am working on increasing the elevation of my runs and resistance to equate the outside distance running. I am getting closer and closer to working up the nerve to sign up for the 10k. I now have to decide between a GOP commitment and the race, but at the moment the race is winning out.

Man I miss this thread. I wish I had something to post but I don't right now. I need to start fitting some runs back into my life (never mind getting back on plan, which needs to happen as well).
