I know how you feel betty I have been feeling sick but, TOM started today and I ran any how feeling like a cow. LOL. I went 6 miles and a bit 75 minutes of running. The I did 4 minutes of continuous lunges and leg extensions, leg pulls, and deadlifts so can you say my legs are like jello I sure can.

I did 4 miles last night, feeling terrible and feverish, and then came home and collapsed into bed. Feeling marginally better today, but still have a very sore throat. I'm hoping to do another 3 miles tonight, as I've been slacking a bit lately with my mileage. I did finish the 5k last Thursday and beat my original 5k time by a minute and a half, which was great considering this course was *hilly* and I don't usually train on hills.

Hope you feel better, Rev!! Sore throats are THE WORST! I had a terrible one all last weekend which is now full blown sinus crapola...grrrrrrrrrrr.

I did run 6.3 tonight even though I felt horrible all day, sneezing and feeling so congested. But I knew I had to run. Ain't that something? When we're sick we just can't face not running .. amazing.

Great job, Sarah! You are such a rock of strength!! Even when you're sick, you are out there DOING IT! So proud of you, girlfriend!

Here's to better healthier days for all of us!

Re: Cool Running for the week of November 20, 2005

I haven't posted this week yet, so I will be reporting my whole week here...

            Mon--35 min--3.5 mi or so
Tues.--no run, but ballet /lyrical class--my hamstrings were needing some TLC...
            Wed.--short 22 min tempo run--about 2.5 mi
Thurs.--Turkey Trot--5mi, LOTS OF HILLS--at least one per mi, some had 2 or 3--uugghh--it was supposed to be an easy 5 mi training run, I wasn't going to race it, but man, in tme middle of 8,000 people all of my good intentions went out the window...47:28--9:30/mi pace--did not walk, not once, even up the steep hills where I saw a LOT of people crawling...My hard run today I would regret come Sat...
Fri--OFF, lots of ice, stretching for...
Sat--our 20K benchmark run with RRFit--12.4 mi--actually ended up being 12.6, because of where they had to put the turn around point...and the kicker?--POURING RAIN...from the start...everything was soaked--I carried an extra 10lbs, minimum, between my shoes being soaked, and my long sleeve drifit shirt that I shed after 4 mi--tied around my waist, kept wringing it out, but finally draped over my shoulders at about 10.5 mi--it alone weighed about 3-4 lbs! The weight off my lower half was a welcome relief..So, my time was a little bit slower--I had to stop and stretch 2x--my lefs just kept getting cold and tight--2:09:03--so not TOO bad, but a little over 10 min/mi...I made it, though, and I had never run in the rain before, so I kinda feel like I can handle whatever gets dished out at the marathon...ICE, ICE, BABY.....

            Off to rest!
