I'm taking a term off next semester and I've decided to work at Curves. I'm not sure how the environment is there, as I've only been inside once. Do the employees get to use the equipment along with everyone else? What does the typical curves employee do? I'm interested because I've always wanted to open a weight loss centre of my own after I graduate. Thanks in advance!

I have been at Curves for almost two years now. It is my part time job, I also have a full time job. Every Curves is different as they are all individually operated. I am blessed as the one I work at is owned by a fantastic woman (she owns several). We are able to work out ANYTIME at ANY Curves. In fact, it is stressed that you work out with the members whenever you can. I run two of the diet groups also. I LOVE IT! I handle alot of things in the club for my boss, alot more then the other employees so my time there flies.
Trust me you do not just stand around and watch people work out. First comes a lot of information you have to learn! And yes, there is paperwork you have to do. Also, figure analysis etc.
Not all Curves are the same.... and I am sometimes amazed when we have a travel pass come in and they have no idea about alot of the equipment. My boss is adament that we ALL know the equipment, exactly what it does and how to make adaptations for people that have challenges.
In a nutshell...... I love my job!Bren
