  • Going on a trip, any exercise ideas??

    So this Wednesday or Thursday I'm going on a trip to Texas for Christmas at my sister's place. Following a low-carb diet will be pretty tough at her place. The last time I was there, her fridge was loaded with high-carb food and all kinds of sweets. Healthy foods is pretty much non-existant there but, I've got that department under control when I get there. My only problem is my exercise regimen. I work on my treadmill almost everyday, I'm seriously depended on it as my main workout. She doesn't own any kind of cardio equipment except some weight machines my brother-in-law uses from time to time.

    So now that you all know my problem, can anyone suggest any alternative cardio exercises???

    All the help would be appreciated!

    How about taking your training shoes with you and going for an early morning run or even walk?

    (doesnt necessarily have to be early morning btw)

    It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      How about taking a video with you?

        I second the vote for either running, walking, or the video!! Hey, how about all three????????????????????

        AND STAY AWAY FROM THE HIGH CARB CRAPOLA!

          I would take along an ipod and use the time you're there to go for long walks to decompress and celebrate a little "you" time! When we stay at others' homes we lose our identity a little bit. With you going out for walks, you're enjoying the fresh air in winter, the snap in your step, and the solitude that is so blessed during these frantic holidays!

            The things I do when I'm away from home, are, taking a video with me, walking,finding a health club where I can workout for a small fee!

              Thanks everyone for your suggestion. They were very helpful and i'm sure it'll keep me active enough for those few weeks. Thanks guys!

              As for Cleochatra's post. You're right. A person really does lose a little of their identity and I think taking walks (and runs cuz i get crazy when i'm too inactive) is a great idea and really recharges a person's battery.
