  • Cool Running for the week of December 18th

Ooh, I feel so proud to start the thread!

I finished ADBB Boot Camp today, with a loss of 9 pounds and several inches, and I'm thrilled with that. I'm also thrilled that for whatever reason the temperature has started to rise a bit and I'm planning to do 5 miles this evening. My half marathon training officially begins January 1st, but in the meantime I'm just trying to lay a good base of miles.

Good job in completing Boot Camp! There are a lot of people who can't say that.

So far this week, I have done:
Saturday - 4 miles - 33 minutes (upset that I dogged it the final mile and messed up my 8 min/mile average)
          Sunday - 3 miles - 25 minutes
          Monday - 2.5 miles - 21 minutes
Tuesday - still to be done....

Ran 30 min today after couple of rest days following that 25K (15.5 mi) benchmark last Sat....Ran in the afternoon b/c I forgot to change my alarm this a.m.--yuck! I MUCH prefer the mornings. My legs always feel dead later in the day...

Out of town... I ran 3 miles before I left, 2 miles on a not nearly as nice treadmill at my inlaws, and 2.5 miles outside on what started as a unseasonably warm day. The temp dropped 4 or 5 degrees by the time I started to the time I finished, and the wind picked up. I added a new item to my Christmas list after that -- running tights. Running with shorts only in the middle of winter only invited the weather change.

I was out-of-town, as well, and couldn't get a wireless network in range...I ran 6.5 mi Sat a.m.--in a sprinkling rain, mind you, and on roads I wasn't quite familiar with. I had borrowed my friend's GPS, but she forgot to give me the charger, and it powered off about half-way through...hahaha. I was proud of myself though--no group, no music, strange place...Haven't run since, b/c I developed some sort of injury in my left foot--not too bad, but sometimes feels like there could be a tiny stress fracture somewhere--never can tell...
