  • An excercise vent!

Ok, I just wanted to get this off of my chest.

I have just walked to my gym only to discover that it closed at 4pm! I've no idea what that is all about! They do have funny opening hours on bank / public holidays in England, which is fair enough. But Wed, Thurs and Fri of this week are normal working days. So they should be open as usual up until 10pm! I am very annoyed! I pay my £32 a month to use it as and when i want to, yet they arent open when I want them to be

    Rant over.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

could be for the Staff to have holiday obsevances or somebody rented the place for parties? Mine actually closed for Christmas weekend and sent me a letter telling me why.

Call them up and ask so your frustration later today will be gone.

SO what did you do for exercise since they were closed? run up flights of stairs for cardio and leg muscles? run up backwards for even more leg muscles worked out? Darts fro the arms and shoulders?

I walked to and from work today (probably about a 1.5mile round trip) and obviously walked to the gym and back.

So thats a bit of excercise at least. My frustration has gone down a little now.

                      Re: An excercise vent!

Bren at first just sitting on it and balancing will work your core muscles like you would not believe. once you get the balancing down you can do more difficult things like typing with one foot up and then finally both up. when you start crunches put them both on the ground and just lower back half way slaoly and then sit up reply to a post hit enter and do another one. When you read a long topic it takes a while for all those pics to load so you can do several of them and then read. post hit submit and do a few more once you get good at it you can try lifting your feet off the ground too.

And after you have finished your crunches you can do arm workouts with your dumbbells cause just balancing while your arms are moving will work you out.

There is a small country park not far from where I live I often cycle to

                          http://www.wokingham.gov.uk/your-com...inton-pastures

then I ride round the lake before getting a cold drink.

But this cold weather it's been a cup of tea - and even a cup of tea sitting INSIDE.

What do you know - closed for two days after Christmas when the park was full of walkers. Not I entirely understand being closed Christmas Day but thereafter all the convenience stores and privately run public services were open.

But the blessed Town Council, to whom we pay local taxes for local services clearly didn't rate the need as high.
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
                          he said, 'Don't count calories.'

                            Re: An excercise vent!

My gym had very restricted hours too, as well as 2 days closed. Some days were only 8am to midday. I like to exercise EARLY. My tummy is used to 6.30 breakfast - it does not like waiting till 9am or later. And then I feel too full for lunch and it flows on down the entire day.
And as I still can't do much road walking - the ankles still object strenuously, I rely on the gym.
