  • Re: The Goalie's Challenge Exercise Thread

OK, tonight. One glass of red wine. Three fingertip pushups and 9 knuckle ones. Kid stuff...including WRESTLING with my Benji to get the dang diaper on. COuldn't tell you what muscles THOSE were...but I was sweating by the time he was dressed!

Jimmie, I know you have the best intentions and actually I'm even thinking you are RIGHT, but I still hate the scale thing. Gr. Many are hopeful to see a large loss at the end of it...I hope they are rewarded If my number changes I'll be amazed, but I don't honestly care about that anyway, my clothes are great.

I had the BEST food today too. Chocolate raspberry (just syrup) mock danish, Linda's chicken and cauliflower dressing thing, garden peppers and cukes, turkey mignons, roasted veggies, corichones and salad. Red wine. Just a GREAT food day.

And tomorrow's Friday. Life is good

    Hugs to all

    Denise

Mmmm denise I will have to look up the chicken and caulflower dressing recipe. I haven't been on Linda's site for a while and I've been in a slump and bored with food lately. Though I have added half an apple a day. I can't believe how good it is! I didn't even realize I missed them.

I ran my 2.5 miles yesterday, despite the cold. this is a funny time of year, it's cold when you start out and your sweating when you come back..it's very hard to dress for. I hate winter running, When the snow/ice comes i'll probably start running on the treadmill in the gym most days. I hate treadmills as much as i hate winter.

While I was doing laundry last night, I decided to try out my husbands chin up bar. What a laugh! not only could I not even do one..i couldn't even lift myself an inch . So what i did was 'modified' ones. I kept my toes on the ground, bent my knees and lifted myself with half my weight (using my legs to support and push myself a bit). My personal challenge now is to at least be able to do one! I've got lots of laundry to do so theirs no excuse.

Oh, and on 'no weigh' challenges, I've talked myself into weighing myself in a few days, will be the first time in about 3 months. tom is here so waiting till it's over. I'm hoping i can lower that 130 in my sig (i'm pretty sure i will be) and put my goalie award back. I took it out thinking 10 lbs over wasn't goal anymore

Sadie, http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/mush...casserole.html is the recipe I'm taling about. I add 1 t poultry seasoning, or ground sage if you don't have, and it tastes JUST like turkey and dressing. It would be great with an apple on the side too I'm glad you've added them back in, yummmmy. It's so important on this woe, to eat all you can, not in amount of food of course, but in variety.

Hugs to all, and have a great weekend!

Actually I've pretty much added everything back except alot of fruits. the only ones I really eat quite often are berries. Even before this woe i wasn't a big fruit eater, but its funny how you appreciate things different if you haven't had them for a while.

I eat steel cut oats several times a week, I was thinking diced apple and cinamon would be a good addition (can't believe i didn't htink of it before). Before this woe I would have just had Quaker Apple and Cinamon sugar laced instant oatmeal LOL. what a change in thinking!!

I did an experiment this a.m...i was up really early and was only a little hungry, not enough for a full b'fast, so i had 1 tbsn p butter and half an apple then waited to see if it caused cravings. It actually was exactly what i needed and kept me satisfied for an hour. i was worried it might cause cravings.

you never stop learning..even in maintenance I guess.

I'm defanately trying that recipe...though since we had our thanksgiving last weekend, I think i'll wait a couple of weeks.

recipe swapping in the exercise challenge where else but ADBB could you do that

Glad you did okay with your pb and apple. I go further on mine with the hunger but I would likes are shorter. LOL it is funny how easy it is now to tell hunger from likes and wants and sort them out and ignore them were as 5 yrs ago I would have been in the kitchen feeding them all.

Did my HIIT this morning and then went for blood work. wonder if it will mess up any results since I might have been dehydrates since Jimmie jo wouldn't make a scale exception for wortkouts rehydrastions LOL and yes Jimmie I didn't look at the docs.

Good to see you 2big, family and all, glad you and momma were able to get your gym time in.

Kids indoor playground and the ministry today. It was super cold here too. Also 10 knuckle pushups and 3 fingertip ones. I do feelt the different muscles in the fingertips ones, but they do stress my wrist. I'm hoping that practice will build up the muscles around the (ligaments? tendons?) that are damaged.

                    Hugs to all!

Phew! Back home at last! Only got online a couple of times on travels, so couldn't do more than a couple of quickie posts around the board.

Haven't had time to read up on all you goalie pals antics in this thread yet but hope everyone's healthy, happy and hopping!

Flights to Germany were ok. The attack on all fronts worked, and I feel I'll really consider flying again...after 24 years of fear!

Exercise was sporadic on my travels and it shows on the scale a little. Time to get back on track...'cept that I don't much feel like it as I have a head full of stitches. (ok, exaggeration here... only a couple!!). Took a fall into the sea at Anzio after having taken MIL back to her home there. Slipped on a seaweedy shelf under a sea wall. My feet went one way, into the water, and my head the other, into the wall. The horrid emergency room people put in deep stitches with a larger than usual needle and no anaesthetic! The antibiotic is making me feel woozy, so I've cut the exercise routine in half (standing exercises one day, floor ones the next). Dogs demand their full walk though so that's something!

Hi Sally! Welcome back, glad to hear the flight was ok but sorry to hear about your fall! Hopefully you'll be all healed up and back to feelling like yourself soon. Yes the dogs certainly don't take breaks from their exercise do they? My dog has perfected a perfect sad look to make me feel guilty on days I don't feel like going out .

I did a shorter run today, about 20 mins. My knee was bothering me a bit this a.m. but i figured a short run is still better than no run at all. My knee seems to be ok after as well.
