I was wondering if any of you go to Curves? I've had a membership there for almost a year and have probably only used it three times (and that was within the last week). I'm just wondering if anyone has had any success from it? I've been supplementing the three a week workouts with two days of walking at the walking park just in case because I really want to shed this weight. Anyone have any feedback on the place?

      Re: Curves.

CURVES! Did someone mention CURVES! Wait, I have to get my cape!

Does Curves Work? only if you work it!

Two out of three woman can lose weight at Curves without evening dieting!

It only takes 30 minutes, three times a week (I suggest more ) to get in shape at Curves.

      Curves works........IF, you work it.

Curves focuses on strength training. Cardio will burn calories (walking etc.) Lean muscle mass has the biggest impact on your metabolism. The more lean muscle mass you have the more calories you burn, even at rest.

You will never "build" muscles at Curves. As you work against your own resistance, but you will discover/firm and tone muscle.

You WILL get out of Curves exactly what you put into it!

Get in there and WORK those machines! I mean work 'em. Every muscle group you use should be completely exhausted when you are done. AND....do NOT forget to stretch after, as stretching increases your strength training by almost 20%.

Shall I go on? Only if you ask!

yep..... 2 big is correct. Three years ago I could never made it through the Walk A Way the Pounds.... 15 minutes.
My first attempt and any sort of physical activity was the six week challenge...... and yeah I kicked and screamed all the way. But, thanks to 2big and Brook..I did it. Then I joined Curves and there has been no looking back! I worked out for a year, and then became an employee.

            My thoughts on Curves...

Yes, it works. It is a good workout and a fun environment. But, you need to actually go! I actually just cancelled my membership (with some sadness). I enjoyed going there, I enjoyed the workout, and I enjoyed the people. My only problem was the limited hours they were open. I'm sure this varies from place to place, but due to the limited hours, I just wasn't able to make it as much as I wanted and needed to. Just something to consider when signing up (for curves or any fitness center). I did get a little bored with it after about 6 months since it is very repetitive, but I think the atmosphere and people there made up for the monotany of the workout.

              Re: Curves.

I loved Curves! I tried it at our cottage last summer. My friend who goes got me in on a guest pass. It's more expensive than the gym I go to, unfortunately, otherwise I'd switch. There was a girl there who looked to be about 10 or 20 lbs overweight. This was in august and she said she went 3 times a week since January and she'd lost 70 or so pounds. She looked great! I thought it was a lot of fun.
