  • What's On Your Workout Mix?

Even though I generally do workout videos, I cannot stand the music they try to lay over and instead put on my stereo. Here are my top 13 workout songs:

Warm Up: Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Jet

    Dance With Me, Debelah Morgan
    Redneck Woman, Gretchen Wilson
    Toxic, Britney Spears
    Get Over Yourself, Eden's Crush
    Objection, Shakira
This is How a Heart Breaks, Rob Thomas
Baby Cool Your Jets, Jet Set Satellite
    Lose My Breath, Destiny's Child
    La La, Ashlee Simpson
    Play, Jennifer Lopez
    Harder to Breathe, Maroon 5

Cool Down: On the Way Down, Ryan Cabrera

How about you guys? I'm always looking for new songs to shake things up a bit.

Send Your Love (Dave Aude Remix), Sting
Space Age Love Song, A Flock of Seagulls
    Quixote, Bond

My songs don't seem to fit in with what y'all have listed, but here they are. Some of these might be cheesy to admit but they have a good beat to workout to.

      Bret Michaels- Bittersweet
      Butthole Surfers- Pepper
Cheap Trick- I want you to want me
      Cinderella- The last mile
      Culture Club- Karma Chamelion
Eminem- Cleanin out my closet & Lose yourself
Everclear- AM Radio, Wonderful, & Santa Monica
Grease soundtrack- You're the one that I want
Great White- Once bitten twice shy
John Denver- Thank God I'm a country boy
Kiss- Crazy Nights, I want you, & Then she kissed me
      Maroon 5- Harder to breathe
Motley Crue- Smokin in the boys room
Naked Eyes- Always something there to remind me
Poison- Fallen angel, Talk dirty to me, & Unskinny bop
      Ramones- I wanna be sedated
Ratt- Round and Round & Way cool Jr.
      Rednex- Cotton Eyed Joe
      Rick James- Superfreak
Skid Row- Youth gone wild & Get the f**k out
      SR-71- 1985
      Tora Tora- Walking shoes
Warrant- Cherry Pie & Uncle Tom's cabin
      Weezer- Beverly Hills

I love the 80's.. can ya tell? :P I want to get a bigger memory card for my mp3 player so I can add more. I also listen to these on my break at school so I'd like to have more variety.

Re: What's On Your Workout Mix?

I typically just hit the shuffle setting on my Ipod..but I tend to help the "shuffle" setting finds these particular songs: I just realized in writing out this list that I have a bit of an 80's theme going.

              Beastie Boys - Intergalatic
              Clash - Train In Vain
Dead Or Alive - Brand New Lover
              Erasure - Chains Of Love
Go-Go's - Our Lips Are Sealed
Groove Armada - I See You Baby (FatBoy Slim remix)
              Haddaway - What Is Love
Lenny Kravitz - Mr. Cab Driver
              Bob and/or Ziggy Marley
Mariah Carey - Shake It Off
Pretenders - Don't Get Me Wrong
              Shakira - Objection Tango
Talking Heads - Wild Wild Life
              Traveling Wilburys - Last Night
              Weezer - Buddy Holly

warm down with something by Backstreet Boys or Genesis tunes typically.

Re: What's On Your Workout Mix?

I have a CD I made just to put on while I do housework or to workout with and I'm like Tiger...it is just about all 80's!!

                Yeah for 80's music!!

(I brought it to work so I don't have it here to write out the 100 songs that are on it...but may try and do it at work for fun.)

Re: What's On Your Workout Mix?

I have a couple programs I use to convert paperback novels into audiobooks on MP3. I load the books on my player and listen to them while I run.

Currently on Book 3 of THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA. So far, it is very good.

                    Recent books...

CLADE by Mark Budz. Thumbs down.

DARWIN'S RADIO by Greg Bear. Thumbs up.

HYPERTHOUGHT by M.M. Buckner. Thumbs down.

THE COLORADO KID by Stephen King. Hmm, undecided.

PALADIN OF SOULS by Lois McMaster Bujold. Thumbs way up.

AMERICAN GODS by Neil Gaiman. Thumbs up.

THE RISING by Brian Keene. Thumbs down. Too vile.

One of my favs to workout to is "One Thing Leads to Another" by The Fixx...in my 20's that was the first one I would put on to get started.

I Personally love to workout to Rap/HipHop- something about the beats, they're so hardcore and the attitude that goes with it, makes me feel as if I can do anything- especially a 45 min hike on a treadmill
