  • Help - foot problems!

    I little background...
Foot surgery in October on left foot, foot surgery in November on right foot. The truth is I don't feel any better - my feet still burn and throb all day.
I was on induction until November 1st (193lbs.) and then I think depression took over or pain won out but now (210lbs) I have started to exercise - OUCH!!!! Can anyone help me with some excercise plan? I have been doing swimming ~ doesn't hurt my feet (but the center I go to has swim team practice 4 times a week and it is hard to get pool time).

Does sitting with your feet on the ground hurt?? I've had three ankle surgeries in the last two years...so I feel your pain. I work out my upper body. I also bought one of those exercise balls...I find I can do a lot of exercises on that...without hurting my ankle too much. And...you may want to check into a senior exercise video. NO I'm not saying you are old....lol.....but sometimes they are packed with execises you can do while sitting. Also...I think someone mentioned an exercise tape for those that are wheelchair bound. Good luck.

Collage Video (www.collagevideo.com) has a bunch of different seated workout videos. Just do a search for seated workout or health issues.

A Pilates mat workout would probably work as well, if you want something that's more advanced.

Have you spoke to your physician about the continued burning & throbbing you've been experiencing? Has your doctor told you what to expect after surgery as far as when you can expect to recover? There's all kinds of medications that can help you live with the burning sensation until you're fully healed.

I hope you get some relief soon! Keep us posted!
