  • Feel sick after exercise

    I just did a pilates dvd for the first time. Up til now, I've just been walking on a treadmill for exercise. Now I feel sick and exhausted. I'm nauseated and just feel like laying down. It was a little hard, but I was able to do almost all the exercises. I've had plenty of water today and breakfast was eggs and sausage about 3 hrs ago.
    Is this normal?

    Sometimes I feel sick during exercising too.

    I exercise first thing in the morning. I find that if I eat a little something (something not too heavy), I don't feel sick. If I try to work out vigorously on an empty stomach, thats when I am nauseated.

    Did you eat after you exercised?

      I also get sick if I work out on an empty stomach. I work out about 1-1.5 hours after I eat. I find that works good. Good luck

        Thanks, I ate a light lunch of tuna, celery and mayo over baby spinach afterwards and then laid down for a for minutes and now I feel a little better. Tomorrow I'll try it 1-1 1/2 hrs after I eat and see if that helps.

          The only time I have trouble with getting nausea is if I work out too hard for too long.

          Be sure you're staying within an appropriate intensity level for you. Getting sick may just be your body telling you to back off a little.

          A little trial and error and you'll figure out what your body is trying to tell you!
