  • Body For Life Challenge Week 5

    I'm going to go ahead and start this thread so I can log my workout from yesterday

    Upper body done (I used my new 10 lb dumbbells for some of the x6 sets - ZOWIE!! Let's hope I can still move my arms later today!)

    My foot is still hurting (seeing the doc tomorrow a.m.), so I'm taking a "sick" day today and not doing any cardio.

    Seems like we are a real Pair Both injured for Cardio. I am on the mend but, it's taking too long for my Liking. DARN IT.

    I did my upper Body weight training It was nastie I was unable to use my click weights cause my Hubby destroyed my weight room and I didn't clean it yet so I did 6 sets of 5 different exercises.

    Push ups 6 sets 12 reps
    Chair tricep press 6 sets 12 reps
    Hammer curls 8 lbs 5 sets 12 reps changeover concentration curls 8 lbs 1 set
    Seated Rows 8 lbs 5 sets 12 reps changeover 1 set 12 reps reverse flies
    Lateral raises 8 lbs 5 sets 12 reps changeover shoulder press 1 set 12 reps 8 lbs

    I am sore today More reps then usual and I am aching but, I feel like I did something.

    Good luck at the doctor Girl hope you get on the mend soon.

      Argh!! It's official: I have pulled a muscle in the top of my foot. So, all I can do for the next two weeks is upper body weights. No spinning, no elliptical, no squats, no lunges, no heel raises, and no Irish dancing!! I am going to do my abs on lower body days, though, as those don't involve my feet at all! And here I thought the whole point of doing cross-training was to AVOID injury.

        Hey it's ok. You are better to rest it.

        What you can do for the next few weeks is break up your Upper body Parts so that you can train your Upper Body every other day and do 5 exercises for each body part like Body for like but concentrating on say
        Chest/Tricep one day.
        Back/Biceps
        Shoulders/Abs
        This way you will get more of a workout and won't feel like you are slacking. You can pick it up in 2 weeks to were we are now K. That's kinda what I am doing but, I am able to do light legs weights no running, no Nothing elese walking is bad even so I try to rest up.

          Did Lower Body Yesterday using my own Body weight it was nastie I did 200 wide legged squats, 90 standing calf raises and 100 Hamsting kick backs.

          WOOHOOO Can I say I ROCK I ran No pain all great 1 hour I am soooo BAD I went 5 miles and I feel great a slight bit stiff but, absoulutely no pain YAY. I think I can say I am officially off the injured list.

            WAY TO GO!!!

            I'm still having some pain, even with 800 mg Motrin 3x/day. At least tomorrow is upper body! WOOHOO!!

              WOOHOO, keep resting till you are all better I am just glad to be back but, I wouldn't be if I had pushed my Luck and ran when I shouldn't have. So rest up and we'll make up time when you are all Better. Hopefully that will be soon.

                  No problems getting Upper Body done this morning. I'm still on the Motrin, but haven't felt any pain all day. It's an improvement and at this point, I'll take any I can get!!

                    Modified lower body done


                    My foot is pain free (even without the Motrin) but I'm going to keep resting it. I just can't take the chance that I'll do something worse to it!!

                      YA like me and my Leg I moved Wrong and Hurt it Yet again I guess it wasn't fully healed. GRRR. SO ya I am a resting YUCK. But, I will do my workout need to start a new thread for this week and Update our Sight here.

                        K well I am going to give a run a try a short one then I will do Upper Body weights. So I am thinking a quick 20 minutes then I will go from there.

                        How is your Foot Feeling are you able to start to do your Cardio again??? Hope it's getting better real quick.

                        Great Job on all the workouts and on the Upper Body today that's awesome.

                        So week 6 Are you starting to Notice any differences in yoour Body shape or anyhing. It takes 6 weeks for the Body to adapt so you start to see some Nice changes if you haven't already.
