    Help!

On January 10, 2006 I fell down the stairs and broke the top of my foot. (Well, almost broke it, it is an imcomplete break.) I was going to the gym every day and now I have been lying down for almost a month ( I also bruised my tailbone lol). The doc told me Monday I have to be in my walking boot (which I hate) for another month. Well, I SO NEED to exercise and I can't walk without my boot. (I was in a cast for two weeks). WHat kind of Exercise can I do? I need to LOSE weight and lately I have been doing a few things I shouldn't. Please help me!

BTW, I am really broke since I am unable to work...yes my job sees me as a liability lol. However, I have a free gym at my school that I can use. I welcome all ideas. Thanks alot.

sorry for some reason your topic didn't pop up on my list of new topics. the first thing We need to know is what did the doc say about execise? with the cast on can you push down qith the leg?
rowing machines can work well if the angle of your walking cast will fit it. you can do pilates as most of them are floor exercises. does your gym have an egometor? that is like a bike for your arms

I cant put any pressure on my foot basically. I have a walking boot so I can take it on and off. We may have an arm bicycle, but I would have to check on that. He said if I had to walk without my boot I would have to use crutches and walk on my heel lol. Hope this helps.

            Re: Help!

can you concentrate on your arm work? perhaps laying on the floor and working with hand weights? can you do leg lifts of any kind. the added weight of the boot might act as a weight.
can you work yoga type exercises with a band?

              Re: Help!

Any kind of work with the exercise ball should be okay .. I'm thinking crunches, free weights for the arms, etc.

                  Re: Help!

can you put your feet on the floor and sit to exercise cause if you are not ball experienced you will be using your legs a great deal to stabilize you unless you are just sitting still and balancing.
