Actually, I looked up the caffeine amount and in the whole can, (16 oz), it has less caffeine than diet cherry pepsi....and alot more vitamins!! So for me, its SOBE!!

Re: SoBe Sugar Free Energy Drink

Do you drink that as your sole fluid during your 17 miles or just one can to start?

according to Mayo clinic, the SOBE site, and pepsi site the SOBE can is almost 4 times more caffeine.
SoBe No Fear, 8 oz.77 mg a can has 2 8oz servings in it for 154 total
Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi 8 oz. 25 mgor 37.5 for a can

the guarana is a caffeine like stimulant too, but the vits are higher in the SOBE drink.

Man, that can design is so sexy.

Maybe when I get down to 200 lbs, I'll buy myself one and drink it as a little reward. Have a caffeine splurge and then exercise my fool head off.

            I think it's cool, Betty.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

I had a can (16 oz) at the 10 mile mark and that was all I needed to finish 17 strong miles. I plan to have a can before my marathon too. No problem with the caffeine either .. I slept well last night! I loved the taste of this stuff!

okay I was wondering if you were using it as your fluid for the whole race. Have you got your drinking plotted yet for your marathon?

Well ... I'm not exactly sure yet .. I know there will be water and/or powerade available on the course at certain mile marks which should be ok .. but I think I'm gonna get one of those small camel back thingies with the straw attached so I can keep a steady flow of fluids going .. not too much, but enough to get me through.

Some people I see on the running trail use those waist belt things with a half dozen water bottles attached, but I don't want anything around my middle. That's why I'm thinkin' that small camel back thing will work better.

And I've got my BODYGLIDE ready for my feet!!

                        BLECH!! I HATE BEER!

Oh yeah, and of course, they'll be providing that gel stuff .. Clif Shots .. 25 mg of carbs per little tube .. UGH. I'm thinking a little homemade trail mix will suffice, along with my fluids!

Sarah be careful with the saltmake your water no more then a slight salt taste.
too much salt during exercise can make you worse then too little. have fun.

good for you. we had a secreter who had the white line from the salts sweated out and had to pop sodium during her race but only cause she was a secreter. normal folk don't need to during a run.

according to the distance study that used to be on the Atkins site if you refuel at the 75 min mark it helps you keep your energy level going better. we might have a copy of it in the memerable posts as much of it was quoted in the early exercisers got to have carbs topics on ADBB when we had to teach them they didn't really need it.
