  • ???question???

so i am pretty good with exercise so far (6 days a week 45min of cardio and 100 crunches every otherday) the weight room intimadates me and i just bought a pilates dvd so i think i am going to do that in the morning and then keep up with my cardio (which i do after work/class anyway).....so anyhoo i have been actually doing fine with my cardio...i do 15 min on the bike and then 35 on the eliptical doing the weightloss course my low intenstity is incline 8 and resistance 5 and strides per min 155-160 my high intestity is incline 18 and resistance 8 and strides per min 160-180...i burn anywhere from 440-480 calories during that time....

it was all going great until yesterday when i got on and my thighs were literally ssoo tired i couldn't really do much of anything. So i went home and ate dinner (i hadn't eaten all day) and then i went to bed early and today i got up not too early but not to late (9:30) cleaned went to class ate dinner ...and at the gym i nearly DIED on the eliptical....what is wrong this has never happened before....i took a break from exercise since novemeber but since jan 18th i have gone almost everyday and NEVER been this tired...whats up? shouldn't it be getting easier?

    Re: ???question???

You said it in your second paragraph...

    (i hadn't eaten all day)
You're asking your body to do a lot - without any fuel. Don't skip eating. If you don't get to eat properly one day at least make sure you take a good supplement.

Further to what Perry mentioned, which was a very valid point.

You could also try varying your routine a little bit aswell, and not using the same piece of CV equipment day after day. If say, you used the eliptical on Monday, try not to use in next until the Wednesday. If you go to the gym on the Tuesday use another machine. This allows your muscles to rest a little.

      Does that make sense?

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

        Re: ???question???

        thanks guys...
ya yesterday i had no real problem...guess i was just in a funk

which leads me to another question.....i work out on a machine that gives me a cal burned meter, and i make sure that it reads from 420 upward per 30mins..... but sometimes i work really hard sweat everywhere etc and i burn lets say 445 calories after 35 min and then other times i feel like i am hardly working and at the end it say i burned 430 calories...?!?!? so am i acutally burning around as much as what the machine spits out.,..or do i burn more when i feel like i am working harder?
