  • Afraid of bulking up

Okay. I have been exercising pretty consistently for the past month( except this past week b/c I hurt my back...). I got up to an hour on my ellipical w/ it on resistance 1, maybe 2 for a few minutes.

I sweat 3 times more when I do it for 15-20 minutes at 3 or 4 resistance. I am just afraid that I will bulk up that way. I LOVE to "Feel the Burn" and I only do when I do it for a little bit w/ a high resistance. What do you guys think? I know something is better than nothing, but I don't wanna bulk up. My calves are big, and mainly muscle as it is. I want to have smaller muscles. I don't wanna be 120 w/ horse legs, ya know?

What do you guys think? Will 15-20 minutes at a higher resistance make me get bigger? Thanks in advanced!

As a woman, I really really really think that you will not 'bulk up'. I exercise a lot including weight training and my body is just becoming more and more toned. If images of female competitive weight lifters are coming into your head, honestly, it ain't gonna happen. Unless you're gonna bulk up on anabolic steroids and do serious weight lifting!

Yeah, women get really hung up on accidentally bulking up. It's really not going to happen unless you're seriously looking for it to happen, and if you feel you're too muscular already, just take it down a notch.

since you alrdy have big muscles it is most likely genetic for you and you aren't going to bulk up. you will get firmer and burn more fat making your whole leg smaller whilethe muscles look bigger but your tape will tell you they aren't.

I ask Sarah to post her before and current pics not with muslces fullof blood from a workout and as you can see in her side by sides her arms are smaller her legs too.

          Re: Afraid of bulking up

Thanks guys. Sarah does look phenominal. If I can look half as good, I will feel complete! LOL

I am just afraid of looking like Chyna or something! LOL. I guess that won't happen...

I will do the shorter amount of time at a higher resistance. I feel like it's much more effective that way. Thaks so much for all the input, it really helps

Girlie, trust me .. I run a bazillion miles and have legs like a chicken.

And now that I'm lifting considerable weight, I have sleek, toned arms .. but no bulk.

Hope your back feels better soon!

Thanks so much TT. My back is a little better today. Good enough to get on my elliptical. It wasn't hurting and I JUMPED at the chance to get on! I did 15 minutes at 4 resistance, and I was sweating like a pig!!!LOL
