I ran my 5 miles tonight nice slow pace took 1 hour and then I walked for 10 for a cooldown my HR was 153-165 all the way so I think that's pretty good for me considering I am sick as heck right now.

Re: Cool Running for the week of March 5, 2006

OK everyone, I'M BACK! It's finally warming up again enough to run (38 this morning).

I ran 5 miles this morning, slow and steady (58:36). I did walk twice for about a hundred yards each but that was only because my HRM was screaming at me and I was at a pluse rate I wasn't comfortable with for my first training run of the season (191 at the top of a hill at the 3.6 mile mark). But that said, a couple of weeks and I'll be back down in the mid 40's for time.

Like I said I want twelve races this year, including my half marathon I missed last year because of my daughter. Now to just pick them out.

                I've missed all of you.
                Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Only a 2.6 mile recovery run this morning, slow at 29:16. I couldn't fit a recovery run in yesterday, so I'm a day late, but my legs were crazy sore anyway. I can't believe how far I slid with my running. I struggled so hard in the first half mile this morning.

It wasn't my normal 5 mile minimum but at least it was something. I think from now on if I don't have time for a 5 miler (or longer) I'll at least do the 2.6 route.
