Can I just say, you have all effectively shamed me. Here I thought I was doing awesome with 2.7 on my 5.0 incline and it looks like I'm the slowest of all of you. Booo!

Thanks betty, that was a great motivator.

I agree 100% with what Betty wrote, it doesnt matter what speed you do it in, just as long as you do it!!!!!! Its the taking part that counts. there are plenty of people out there that cant even do 1 mile!

On average I run between 8 and 9 minute miles.

              Re: How fast are you!?

I usually run a 9 1/2 minute mile - but it depends how far I run. I can't keep that pace up for longer than 2 - 3 miles. I agree with Betty - no one should care how long it takes them to do a mile - just getting out there and doing it is what matters!

yep just do it when I started I was 2MPH and thought I was Rocky on top of those stairs when I finsihed my mile. As you keep going you will get faster with better endurance.

you are doing great with a 5 incline flatten it out and you will see you can go much faster on the flat treadmill.

Wannabe folk don't go all out for their first mile in a race that is longer cause they want to be albel to finish. it wopuld like saying our time for a 100 yrd dash is the first 100 yrs of the 5K which we all know isn't true cause the second 100yrds would be done crawling if we did go all out for the first 100.

Yeah, so what is the question? Time for 1 mile if only 1 mile done or time for the first mile of a longer run?
