Re: Best time to exercise
I know there has been discussion on this before. Personally, I feel the best time to exercise is when it fits into your schedule. So, whatever works best for you in order to make exercise part of your lifestyle in my opinion is best.

Re: Best time to exercise
The best time for me is first thing in the morning! No excuses, no distractions. That is when I have the most energy (I know, I'm weird). By the time I get finished with work, rush home, cook dinner, etc., etc., it is easy to come up with excuses not to exercise. That way I have it done in the morning and I'm done! Sometimes I'll do a bonus walk in the evening, too. Especially this time of year when it is getting so nice outside.Started 4/18/04

Re: Best time to exercise
Most "experts" will tell you do it first thing in the morning on a empty stomach. I agree with everyone else do it when you can. I am not a great morning person so rarely to I exercise right after I wake up. I go to the gym late in the evening and it kind of helps me reflect on how my day went. Just stay active however you can.

Re: Best time to exercise
if we were high carb eatters then you get a better fat burn in the AM on an empty stomache but Atkineers burn fat 24/7 so any time will give you a great fat burn.
Some people can't sleep after working out in the evening and some folk drop off like somebody flipped a switch. you know yourself so find the best time you enjoy and then block out that time slot for exercise from now on.

As far as I am concerned, anytime is a good time. Just as long as its done.

Re: Best time to exercise
Yes the best time is what is most available to you and low-carbing does have some advantages with that. My suggestions would be only, do your resistance training while your carbs are in your system this will give and your cardio when your carbs are at the lowest.
I prefer split sessions, cardio in the morning and weight lifting in the afternoon but if I was to do it in a single session I would say do your weight lifting first then your cardio.

I agree with those who posted above. The best time to do your exercise is whenever you feel most comfortable doing it.Bran (M) 575/470/220----------------------Restarted on: 3-24-06Weight dropped since restart: 5 lbs----------------------
