Re: How Much Exercise is too Much
I don't know how much would be too much...maybe tt or 2big would be better to answer that...
But I do know, that you are doing too much if
1.) you are hurting yourself.
2.) You feel like it is just too much.
Those 14 pounds will eventually drop, it just may take some time, that's all. If you are doing it obsessively, I don't think that's good either. I did that. I went from obsessing about food...(aka eating everything) to obsessing about exercise. One extreme to another...and that isn't good for anyone.
I think you have to be the judge. If you are happy doing it and enjoy it and it makes you feel great, AND you aren't hurting yourself, I don't see where you could go wrong. Just remember it's always a good idea to rest a little bit so you don't get burnt out.
I know I am not much help, but I hope I did, even the tinsiest bit.
*Dieting makes you look good with your clothes on...exercise make you look good with them off.*

You should be giving yourself at least one day of rest to let your body recuperate a little bit. It's hard for me to do that too, sometimes, though.BARB

Re: How Much Exercise is too Much
Terrific commitment!
However, I agree, you may be overdoing it a little. Granted, I am hardly one to say "cut back"
but you really don't want to risk injury by overdoing it. Your muscles need time to repair the tiny tears that can happen from rigorous workouts. So a day of rest every other day would go a long ways toward preserving your muscles!! I promise, you won't lose any ground by resting .. in fact, you may just discover that your workouts will feel even better!
When I first started running, I wasn't running more than a mile or so a day, so it was okay to do more days .. but as the miles increased, it became obvious that rest was very important. Now, I only run 4 days a week, but I'm able to run farther with 3 days of rest. So it all works out!
Great job, though!

I dont think anyone has mentioned it on this thread yet, but I may have missed it. Its not a good idea to do ALL cardio either. You should also use the weights machines also.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Re: How Much Exercise is too Much
I agree with the above posts, rest is when you muscles are going to recover and grow. A combination of cardio & resistance training will optimize your results. And also wanted to add try limiting your work-outs to 45-60 minute sessions at a higher pace if you would like but going for so long in one session will start to burn muscle instead of just fat.
