Re: Boxing exercise program
hello i'm new to this forum but i believe i am able to answer this...
boxing is great....but let me suggest something that will get you so into shape you won't be able to believe it. i'll just share my story w/ you real quick.
i'm 23 years old and at november of last year i found myself at about 140 pounds. sure doesn't sound obese, but my body frame is small small, imagine this...before i had my baby i was a (healthy) 98 pounds, no exaggreation. so add 40 pounds to a healthy body and you get a really chubby person. i had to do something i was depressed.
so i took up kickboxing (muay thai) not the cardio kickboxing, but the actual sport itself..and i fell so deeply in love it became an obsession. i wasn't even worried what i looked like anymore
it was about the sport, about becoming better at it, faster, more powerful. i stayed dedicated, and this past month i've actually flew to phuket thailand and stayed at www.tigermuaythai.com
for four week! we trained muay thai twice a day in 100 degree weather outside for a month! i lost seven pounds (but gained a lot of muscle, so i'm not really looking at pounds lost) i'm a comfortable size 3 now, not a size 10 like i was in november so there you go.
over the course of three month i have shrunk alot, i feel AWESOME and i am a very comfortable, and athletic 116 pounds. you should soooooo try it it not becomes more about the feeling centered, confident and powerful then how much weight you can lose. i think i just needed something other then aesthetics motivating me, it wasn't enough. i needed soemthing more concrete!
check out a gym by you, even just boxing might have the kind of edge you are looking for, here's a link to my gym. www.gladiatorsacademy.com
might give you an idea of what to look for....good luck!
