WHen I am training really hard as I am right now I eat anywhere from 40 to 70 grams of carbs. When I am just running I eat only 30 and do fine with that. I ahve phases where I don't lose and so I drop my carbs back down and lose then Boost em back up so that I maintain My LBM. I ahve found this works for me. It doesn't work for everyone. You need to find your CCL, being that you are on Atkins it is a Muscle sparing WOE and I ahve had good gains in LBM since I ahve started. It's not a ton but, I wasn't going for Huge gains. WHen I started I was 112 Lbs of LBM and My LBM as of a week ago was 130 LBS so I am very happy with that and feel very strong. I made a lot of my gains in the start when I was on Extended induction at only 30 grams of carbs I have in the last 7 months moved to OWL and found my CCL which is 90 grams before I go out of Ketosis and I ahve to keep it at 30-45 to lose weight at my current activity level.

I've been doing the BFL lifting program and 60 min of HIIT cardio for 3 yrs now and could lose eating over 115 net carbs when I was on the way down and have maintained for almost 2 yrs now. we have lots of lifters here and the amount of carbs they can eat increases with rigorous exercise. Even not2late had to up her carbs because she increased her exercise program even though she doesn't do heavy lifting.
you are going to need to forget everything you learned about having to have carbs to keep from eating your muscles on the bodybuilding sites cause it just isn't true. the human body can make its own carbs from free pool amio acids, dietary proteins, brokendown for energy glucose biproducts and even the hydrocarbon back bone of every fat molecule we are shedding from our fat stores and eating in our diets.
with the 30% protein intake on Atkins we eat more then enough protein to not have to worry about glucogenesis caniblizing our muscle tissues for glucose.
You may feel weak and unable to complete your workouts when you begin doing Atkins because you are going to need to build up the fat burning fueling supplies like carrier molecules, enzymes and coenzymes for reactions needed and building more mitochondrias in your mucles cells for providing all the energy from the fats but you will be amazed at how fast your body changes and how well you can workout as it does.
