  • As the weather warms, increase your potassium

If you are working out rigorously (like jogging or running, for example) and sweating alot, don't forget to add potassium to your list of supplements.

I learned this lesson yesterday .. I was out doing my usual run and suddenly, AUGH! Cramp in the left calf .. so I stopped, stretched it out until it relaxed .. continued my journey and within another 100 yards .. BAM, another cramp in the right leg ...

I haven't been taking potassium during the cooler months, but now that its in the mid 80s here ... um.... note to self: TAKE POTASSIUM!

Just wanted to give you guys and gals a heads up!! Nothing hurts like a rock hard calf muscle!

    Betty,

I copied this from the news/research forum where I had posted this before:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003...ain565460.shtmlI actually had some of Glaceau's Smart Water last week....only because it was on sale (and a bargain) at 32oz bottle for $1.00 at Target. Supposedly this stuff is distilled water, with magnesium, calcium, and potassium added. Tasted the same as Dasani or Aquafina to me....which I normally don't like. The label doesn't say how much calcium, magnesium or potassium it has in it. If it had enough to make a real difference I would buy it and drink it more often. Can't seem to find out that information on a web search though.

    What do ya think??

I have been supplementing with potassium, because the cramps at night were killing me, and it's helped. I'm going to stop by Target today and see if it's still on sale.
