  • Happity Happy Happy!

Just had to share the joy.

My mother-in-law bought me an exercise ball ("the ball" as she likes to call it) for my birthday.

    YIPPEE!!

I must say, I'm a little daunted as how to get started exercising with it. But Hooray for MIL!

(She bought me a nice new yoga mat and a talking pedometer too! I love her.)

There is a pushup challenge going on using the ball. Look for that, I think in the exercise challenges. Have fun with it!!

Isn't that nice of her to support your goals to get healthy!

I like to do squats with an exercise ball - lean against a wall with the exercise ball between you and the wall, about mid-way down your back. Then do squats, leaning back and rolling the ball down the wall. REALLY works your thighs and rear! I also like to do leg lifts by lying on my back and holding the ball between my feet as I lift both legs, it's great for the abs.

WHAT A TERRIFIC MIL!! LUCKY YOU!

I would suggest you invest in an exercise ball video/DVD .. I have one by Kathy Smith which is very good for beginners. I felt like a complete KLUTZ with mine at first, but stick with it, you'll catch on and be absolutely HOOKED on it! I love doing crunches and pushups with mine. Also those butt thingies .. its a GREAT piece of equipment!

        A pedometer too! FABULOUS!
