4.5 miles this afternoon in a very satisfying time (for me anyway). 43 mins 42 seconds.

    Very happy with that.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

5 miles in about 1 hour 4 minutes. All under 70% heart rate.
That's a blazing 12:53 per mile. It was just a month or two ago
though, that I couldn't make it a single mile at close to 14 minute miles!

Goals going forward: Keep at the heart rate training until I can do my
marathon long runs at around 10 minute per mile pace. Long term goal is
to run the October marathon in 4 hours. That would be almost a 50 minute PR
from last year's marathon. It's definitely a stretch target, but I am almost 40 pounds
lighter now than when I ran my first marathon in October.

I have decided to enter myself for the Bristol Haf Marathon. Its in September so I should have plenty of time to train for it.

Initially I was going to go for a Half marathon next march, but only because I doubted my own ability. But the way my training has been over the past couple of weeks I should be ok.

Alas, I am in week two of having Mono (I know?! I feel so high school!) and am doing good just to stay awake, but I'm rooting for you all this week. I was supposed to do my first half marathon in a little under 3 weeks, but instead I will probably just be getting back to a steady running schedule then, and I don't think there's any way I could do 13 miles unless I just let myself run/walk it. Don't think I'm not considering that.

Oh REV!!! I so feel for you .. I got mono AT AGE 40 (talk about a soap opera .. everyone wanted to know how *that* happened!) I was out of work for 6 full weeks .. never so weak in all my life .. lost 22 pounds (fortunately, I had plenty stored up back then in my pre-Atkins days) ... worst time in my life, bar none.

REST REST REST. THEN REST SOME MORE. Put your running on hold until you are 100% recovered .. we want no relapse for you!! Drink alot of fluids and some high calorie drinks so you don't lose too much muscle ...

I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!

5K in for me and my first run outside! Winter is gone and so is that freakin' treadmill! Still a little pressure in my lungs, but not too bad. I think I may actually cycle to work tomorrow too.
