  • Ab Workout? How often?

    Since I have been on the Ab challenge I basically have been doing the abs everyday. I hear some experts recommend every other day for ab work the same as strength training in order to allow muscles to recover.

    Question- How often do you work your ab muscles and those who do it every other day do you see results quicker than if doing it everyday?

    No takers on this? Does everyone basically do ab work everyday? No recovery rest between? Am interested in getting the best results with the least amount of effort.

      Personally, yes I do do ab work everyday, but only via crunches. I'm sorry Idont really know the answer for you.

      You could try pm'ing 2big4mysize, she knows lots about most stuff.

      It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




      I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

        For some reason, abs can be done every day, although I don't know the reasoning behind this, since all other muscle groups need a rest day.

            I work with a personal trainer and we do abs 2x a week. Every Tues and Friday..Lots of leg lifts, situps on that damn slanted bench, hanging Knee lifts and the plank pilates move...its a killer workout but my abs are really taking shape...

              I have access to all of that equipment at the gym, do you do a certain number of each one or does the trainer just push you til you drop?

                      yeah i started my exercise yesterday and i did 260 sit ups over all in spats of 50, but after the 1st one i thought someone has kicked me in the stomach, but i'm going to keep at it each day either at home or in the gym.

                        I do an ab workout everyday. my abs are flat but no means a six pack.

                        Female
                        Height 5'4
                        33 years old
                        HW 227 at birth of my babies (2007) & (2009)
                        CW 175 lbs

                        Final Goal 130 lbs & size 2/4 (Again)
                        Current size: 10/12

                        Recently had two babies in short time frame and gained 80-100lbs with EACH pregnancy- argh.

                          I think that if you train your abs using weights instead of just doing traditional situps, then you should rest between. Thats how most people get sixpack abs
