  • Cool Running for the week of April 30-May 6

    Hello runners & joggers!

Its a new week .. MAKE IT A GREAT ONE!!

This is the last week before the Minnie Marathon (Women Run the World) 15k next Sunday (May 7th). So I plan a little different schedule this week: Mon, Wed, Fri, RACE DAY .. instead of the usual Mon, Wed, Thurs & Sat. Looking forward to the big day .. DD will be out there with me, although she says she is no way ready for it!

Have a great week of running! Set your goals high and exceed them!

Hi people, I am on top of the world this evening. I entered a 5 mile road race today. My furthest race I have run. Before now it has just been 5k.

I have been training for it.

I finished in 45:14 today, I am really happy with that. It was a good course. But a mile from the end was a very steep hill (uphill) for about 250 metres. That was a killer.

Anyway I am dead chuffed with my time.

I know what you mean Betty I hate being sick too but, had to yet again take a step back. I sure hope that I will still be good for my halfer (fingers crossed) I had to drop the milage and didn't run last week at all due to Docs orders man I hate this. He gave me the go ahead for slow this week and said I should be able to resume my training for next week hopefully that will be enough time before well I will be well rested ROFL.

I did 3 miles in 30 minutes today nice interval run my HR was low 144 so I wasn't even pushing it that hard.

Great job, Sarah! You will rock that halfer, I just know it!

I didn't run Monday at all .. stayed home from work and felt horrible. Today I went to work, but still don't feel great. I'm gonna try and run a little tonight after dinner settles. Maybe 3 or 4 miles. Gad, I hate being sick .. especially this close to my 15k this weekend!

All of you are so motivational. I remember when I can run 2 miles everyday no problem...I used to say those days are long gone...but reading your posts...I know I will get back there in a matter of time. I need to check on some 5K run/walk to do.
