  • Tae Bo Bootcamp

    Hey you guys,

I just bought billy's bootcamp second hand on dvd, nut it has not come with the resistance bands (billy bands) and i've been trying to find some for cheap on the net, and there are loads of other bands out there.

My problem is i don't know how the length of these bands on bootcamp compare to the length of the generic ones can anyone give me an idea of the length or where to get similar generic bands which stretch to a similar lenght to the tae bo resistance bands.

Please help i really want to start to use the bootcampo dvd's asap.

    Guy.

Hi, I've just ordered the dvd's from a shopping channel over the weekend. I can let you know the length when the dvd arrives, but I think it could be upto 2 weeks!!

You will probably be ok with any of the bands on the market, so long as they give some sort of resistance - I have noticed that Billy has a website, maybe have a look on there - its www.billyblanks.com

    Good luck with your workout

Not all resistance bands are created equal.

Generally you can get them in "light", "medium", and "heavy". Some are rated by lbs (i.e. 10lbs, 15lbs, etc).

Be sure to take a good look at the handles on them. GoFit has cheap resistance bands, but the handles on them can and do (at least for me!) scratch you, depending on what angle you're using them at. Metal connecting the tubes to the handles hurts!

I've owned GoFit, Reebok, SPRI, but my favorites by far are the ones put out by BeachBody.com . They're awesome, well made, and about bulletproof. They're a little more pricey, but you really do get what you pay for.

The beach body ones are great. Target also has a brand, I believe it's ProFit. I have a set of three bands with varying resistance. The handles are cushioned and rotate pretty freely.

          Re: Tae Bo Bootcamp

I am a huge Tae bo fan!!! I have the first bootcamp and I use the bands regularly. I bought them straight from billy's website but you need to be careful! There are 2 different kinds of Billy Band's: black ones and red ones. The black ones are to the original bootcamp and the reds ones are for bootcamp elite, and there is a HUGE difference! If you need the black ones, just call billy's customer service and they will hook you up! You can order the red ones from the site store. They are only 14.95 which I though is reasonable.

Be ready to lose some inches with these workouts! They are the best!
          Best Wishes!
