Re: Cool Running for May 14th to May 20th
OK, since nobody hunted me down for being MIA, I hunted myself down. I kept letting life give me an excuse for not running. Well I had an excuse for today too, and refused to give in, life didn't allow me to get in a run this morning (got paged from work). So I asked the babysitter (who was bridging the time from my wife going to work and me getting back from a b-day party with my oldest) to stay a little longer so I could get something in. So 2.6 miles today, I ran them hard, but slower than I would have liked. But I'm back to 5 milers (plus some 10's) starting tomorrow morning. I need 6 runs a week, because I have a race in 3 weeks, and my training has been lacking. It's the race that was the first of my life last year and I want to do better than last year. That is going to be tough since I'm 22 pounds heavier than I was last year at the same time. Now falling off the wagon is haunting me. I swore I would never waste all my hard effort again and here I have a bit. But luckily it's not too late. 3 weeks 22 pounds or more? No problem. As of right now I am back on the wagon for good.
Oh yeah, 28:50 for the 2.6. Still slow but by next week I should definitely be shaving time off.
Sorry for rambling.
