  • What's Wrong With Me????

    I don't get it. I never used to exercise. I posted a couple of days ago about buying an exercise DVD, and being able to do some of it. Well, this morning I found myself getting out of bed at 6:45 and by 7:15 I had that thing in the DVD player and was going through the routine. When my daughter got out of bed at 8, she asked me what I was doing so early. I feel so good about myself right now -- I actually did all 41 minutes of the video! I didn't do it very well, but I did do it all!

    Then this evening, I did 15 more minutes on the exercise bike while watching TV. Like I said, what's wrong with me?
    June Goals
    1. Continue with water
    2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
    3. Continue with videos.
    4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
    5. Build stamina for more walking.


    Goals for May:
    1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
    2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
    3. Post every day.
    4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
    5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.

    Congratulations. It happens to most of us. When we start to feel so good about taking care of ourselves and the exercise gives us a positive high...its hard to stop doing it.

        it's nice to feel good and have positive attitudes and exercise is one of the ways we get there! good for you!

          I also am in love with excersize now but am finding it harder to reach my target heart rate is this normal b-4 I could only do a few minutes now I need 45 min I do a cardio stair stepper, treadmill, and cross trainer

            Congratulations! Yes. As your heart gets into better shape it can pump harder and more efectively. SO..... you have to work it harder to make it pump faster. Like any muscle the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets. Think about how hard it was to do that first set of say bicep curls. Bet you felt "the burn" pretty quickly. And now? Slice of pie to do what you had a hard time doing at first.
            Also, check your resting heart rate. I'll bet it is lower now because each pump of your heart is stronger and can more more blood. On top of that, if your fat ratio is down, your body volume is down as well. Less area for your blood to have to cover. Less distance for your heart to have to pump it. Congratulations again!

            Also, congrats to all who have been bitten by the exercise bug. LOL ain't endorphins a wunnerful thang?!

              What a great post - I love it when people start to notice a difference in their attitude to exercise - it doesn't take any time at all, huh? The endorphins get addictive (as does the retreating waistline!!)

                OH yay another has Come to the Exercise side it feels good to do it and YUP it boosts those Positive brain chemicals that make ya feel good. You'll start to crave those happy chemicals and feel guilty when you don't do it.

                    You got the exercise BUG...Hey I want it too!!! I'm itching to start exercising, but the same day I started Induction (12 days ago) I screwed up my ankle. I go to the Dr. today...I hope w/my new Soft cast it's okay to walk...

                      Hi, Glam,
                      I hope you can exercise with that case, and will be up to a full-scale exercise program in no time.

                      I'm finding that I need to rest a day between exercise sessions. I have bad arthritis as well as the achilles tendon thing, and if I try to do much two days in a row, the knees don't hold up. Hopefully, muscle conditioning will fix this problem quickly.

                      I've ordered another couple of videos to do in between. That way, I'm not overusing the same body parts two days in a row.

                      Well, off to the video!
