  • 10 mile road race!

In 11 hours time, I am taking part in the City of Salisbury 10 mile road race. This is the furthest I will ever have run before. I am a mixture of excited and scared at this at the moment.

I will of course be back tomorrow after the run to post my story and time.

I am hoping to finish it in less than 1 hour 50 minutes. I should hopefully be there or there abouts with that time just as long as my knee doesnt play up again.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

        Re: 10 mile road race!

Wow, I am so impressed with myself! Not only did I beat my aimed time of 1 hour 50. I absolutely slaughtered the time! a staggering 1hour 42! I am amazed.

All went ok, my knee (which I was wearing a support around) held out for the majority of the run, but started to give me a bit of discomfort at the 7.5 mile mark. It was very hard to keep going, but had to do it.

There were 225 runners. I was expecting to finish near the back of the field, as I wasnt expecting that many "fun runners" to enter a 10 mile race, I mean 10 miles is quite a long way. But I did ok. I finished 144th. So I was almost in the top half of the field.

The winner did it in 57 minutes!!! OMG.

Anyway, i am happy with my performance, and am not going to run again, until my knee is 100% better.

But am entered for a 10 k in July also a 5 k in july and a half marathon in September.

A month should be plenty of time for my knee to get better.

        Thanks for reading.
