  • HIIT - Wow

My exercise of choice lately has been 40 min cardio/6 days a week... I had been reading a lot about HIIT training, so decided to try it. Today I did a 5 min warm up, 10 minutes HIIT, and 5 minute cool down. 20 minute total - not a long work our but definitely tough. Anyway, I checked the ketostix and the results were deep purple, as opposed to the light/moderate result I always get. And I have eaten the same. Wow. Now I know ketostix are merely a tool, however, I am apparently burning a lot more fat. I'm going to do 3 sessions of HIIT/weekly and 3 sessions regular 40 minute cardio. We'll see if it helps weight loss. I have been stalled for a long long time.

I am not going to do any weight training for a few weeks. As I mentioned, I have been stuck for soooo long. I really just want to see if I can get the scales to move so I am focusing on fat burning rather than muscle building for a bit. I will reincorporate weight training once I get some fat burning

YUP isn't HIIT amazing I am incorperating more of it into my ROutine and 20 minutes a day really Burns you up. Way to go.

I wouldn't honestly drop the weight training cause your body is used to it right now and you may lose weight but, when you add the weight training back in you will gain the water back in your muscles and will see the weight go back up. I hope that makes sence LOL.

What I would do for right now is instead of doing High weight not sure what you are doing do more reps or do SUpersets 2 sets of Supersets works really well and it gets your heart rate up more cardio benefits.

Way to go you are doing sooo awesome.

I love HIIT and have been doing it 3 times a week for 60 min since 2003. It kkeps you alert on because of the 1 min intervals and really works you out.

I agree with Sarah don't drop your reisitance training just don't up your plates any and maintain your levles doing the plain cardio after the weight lifting. Have fun.

well, I wouldnt really be dropping weight resistance to be honest, because I haven't been very good with exercising for the last little while... I started back up June 1.. and decided to just start with cardio. I am going to add weight resistance July 1. Hopefully by then the scales or inches will have budged

HIITing is a great way to get fat burning going

BUT your stix don't tell the whole store cause you used to do 40 min of cardio and now you are doing just 10 min of HIIT so you got 30 min you were burning off fats missing from your exercise and those could be the "extra" ketones showing up in your urine since the stix only measure the kind burned for fuel of the 3 kinds in the body.
