Re: is there a difference between a regular small trampoline and an urban rebounder...
The Urban Rebounder has 6 legs instead of 4, and is really well re-enforced. Mine is a much better quality trampoline than those I've seen at the sports store for 1/2 the money.
Honestly? It'll probably be just fine, but I'd definitely take your size into account when looking at the stability of the rebounder.

Re: is there a difference between a regular small trampoline and an urban rebounder...
I have both. After seeing the Urban Rebounder information, and checking what i had bought at walmart for 30.00 against the way the UR was manufactured, i was sure it was unsafe. The generic one i had, doesn't even have springs. I bought urban rebounder for the safety aspects of jumping my 250 pound butt on it. I had heard a horror story on the message boards from beachbody.com, and was too afraid. Someone had wrote that theirs had collapsed and they fell and broke thier wrist. The stability bar option for balance is another factor that sold me. If you watch HSN or QVC, they have the urban rebounder at a significant discount. HTHLoner Insearchof Something Amazing

thank you all so much, i think i will go for the urban rebounder. I currently weight 280 and the thought of falling through the cheap one doesnt sound appeasing
